49ER FX
The 49er FX is the double-handed women’s Olympic skiff. The hull is the same as the 49er but with a different mast and sails, optimized for younger female or mixed crews. The class has developed very quickly because it allows young athletes to approach this type of hull with more confidence than the 49er rig.
The FX’s sail plan was carefully designed by North Sails using approaches derived from America’s Cup and Australian 18-footer designs. These efficient sails design allow the FX to compete with the larger 49er in most conditions. Nautivela is distributor of the 49er FX in Southern Europe.
