The 29er is a high performance two-person sailing skiff designed by Julian Bethwaite in 1998. The boat is able to reach high speeds quickly having a sleek and hydrodynamic hull. The first 29er world championship was held in Italy in 2000 in Riva del Garda.
Unlike other youth classes, the 29er is equipped with a jennaker as a headsail and is considered the propaedeutic boat to the 49er (also designed by Bethwaite). Like the 420, it was chosen by World Sailing as the class for the World Youth Sailing Championships. Nautivela is distributor of 29er in South Europe.
